Harvey Augustine III
Board Member
Harvey Augustine III is a retired Major and 1985 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. With 22 years of distinguished military service, he participated in five campaigns and served as a Joint Task Force Test Analyst under the U.S. Under-Secretary of Defense, earning the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. Transitioning to education, Harvey spent 21 years excelling in roles such as Adjunct Instructor and District Elementary Math Coordinator, culminating in recognition as the Region 4 Texas Teacher of the Year and a U.S. Olympic Torchbearer in 2002.
In 2011, Harvey founded the Loving Resource Center, a nonprofit aiding battered women and disabled veterans. From its beginnings with "Feed the Community" to its expansion into health, social services, and skills training, the center reflects his lifelong commitment to service. A disabled war veteran himself, Harvey leads efforts to develop transitional housing and training facilities, continuing his mission to uplift underserved communities.
In 2011, Harvey founded the Loving Resource Center, a nonprofit aiding battered women and disabled veterans. From its beginnings with "Feed the Community" to its expansion into health, social services, and skills training, the center reflects his lifelong commitment to service. A disabled war veteran himself, Harvey leads efforts to develop transitional housing and training facilities, continuing his mission to uplift underserved communities.
Dr. Brenda Dearmon

Dr. Brenda Dearmon
Board Member
Dr. Brenda Dearmon brings 41 years of dedicated experience in education, having served in various impactful roles, including classroom teacher, instructional facilitator, Assistant Principal, Principal, Executive Director of Federal Programs & Grants, and currently Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services in Sheldon ISD.
A lifelong learner, Dr. Dearmon earned her Baccalaureate and Master’s degrees from the University of Houston, completed her Superintendent Certification at Stephen F. Austin University, and achieved her Doctoral degree at Lamar University.
Dr. Dearmon is deeply committed to fostering a positive school culture and advancing student academic success.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys reading, playing the organ, traveling, teaching Sunday School, and cherishing time with her husband, children, and four grandchildren.

Jasmine Aguilera Andrade has dedicated nearly a decade to transforming lives as an educator in Galena Park ISD. Originally pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Houston, she discovered her true calling in education while working at the University’s Children’s Learning Centers. Her passion for teaching was cemented when she led science experiments for visiting elementary students, showcasing her natural ability to educate and inspire.
Recognized as HAABE ESL Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year at Jacinto City Elementary, Jasmine is celebrated for her determination, compassion, and optimism. She brings these qualities not only to the classroom but also to her advocacy work as a board member of the Loving Resource Center.
Jasmine’s unwavering dedication reflects her commitment to fostering healing, promoting independence, and inspiring meaningful change.

Tiffany Brooks is a highly accomplished Technical Project Manager with 19 years of experience in streamlining processes and leading cross-functional teams to success. With a career spanning multiple industries, including Transportation, Healthcare, Information Systems, and Cybersecurity, Tiffany’s diverse background showcases her adaptability and depth of expertise. Currently, she leverages this extensive knowledge in her role at a leading security firm, where she consistently drives impactful solutions and enhances operational efficiency.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Tiffany is deeply committed to giving back to her community. As a passionate advocate for social change, she proudly serves as a board member of the Loving Resource Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence. Through her leadership and advocacy, Tiffany works tirelessly to advance the Center's mission, ensuring that survivors receive the care and resources they need to rebuild their lives.

Leesa Smith is a highly accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry. A former soldier and graduate of the United States Military Academy, Leesa brings a unique blend of IT expertise, project management skills, and operational excellence to every endeavor. Her passion for advocating for disabled veterans underscores her dedication to service and leadership at the Loving Resource Center.
Leesa has held key leadership roles throughout her career, including at Digicon, where she supported a major county government by overseeing critical services such as social services, 911 operations, and the board of supervisors. She currently serves as a Service Transition Manager at SMX, ensuring seamless transitions of operations and customer technologies to the cloud.
Her work with the Loving Resource Center reflects her belief that soldiers who have sacrificed for our freedoms deserve a community that honors their courage and resilience. As a board member, Leesa combines her technical expertise and compassionate advocacy to advance the center’s mission of empowering disabled veterans and their families.
When she’s not working or volunteering, Leesa enjoys tending to her yard, spending time with her two rescue dogs, or getting lost in a great book.

Mike Baisden
Board Member
Mike Baisden is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and 1985 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. With 24 years of distinguished military service, he has led soldiers, sailors and airmen through multiple deployments, exercises, and campaigns; receiving numerous awards and commendations throughout his military career. Upon retirement from active duty, Mike leveraged his business and logistics skill in multiple corporate roles with ExxonMobil.
During his tenure there, he served in a myriad of technical and managerial positions, including Contracting Manager for several major upstream capital projects and synthetic lubricants Procurement Lead. Additionally, he served as Procurement Supplier Diversity, Change Management, and Veteran/Diversity Recruiting Leads prior to retiring in 2020.
Throughout his life, Mike has sought opportunities to help the most vulnerable among us and to uplift those in need. He has volunteered with United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Travis Mannion Foundation, Concerned Black Men, and multiple other 501(c)(3) organizations. His lifelong mission of “giving back” continues with his service on the Loving Resource Center Board.
